NEW YEARS DAY

It occurred to us after our last post that perhaps we looked like we were in danger and/or being irresponsible parents? So, we just wanted to let you all know that we, especially the children, were very safe with safety precautions in place in the form of safety glasses, ear plugs and were watching the spectical from inside a tram shelter with perspex walls and it was only Dave that ventured out for a couple of minutes at a time to get footage. We know it would never happen in Australia which is why we wanted to experience it, but you know what? There were no fights, no accidents, no fires, no arrests (that we seen), and everything went silent at 2 am when fireworks deadline hit. Amsterdam really is something else!

It's a slow morning, the children are still asleep (9.30 am) and Dave and I have not long been awake. It's drizzling rain, perfect weather for a lazy day. Other than a little bit more souvenir shopping we'll probably just hang about today and start discarding that which won't be needed (snow clothing :) and packing up ready to leave Europe tomorrow and head to Vietnam. See you on the flip side.
