CAUGHT A TRAIN, MISSED A PLANE

As the title depicts we caught the train home from Sapa, but missed our flight to Da Nang. Through no fault of our own though. The driver was late picking us up. No problems though. We were simply put on the next flight and have now arrived in Hoi An at Orchid Garden.

I may have finally ditched the big coat :) Although not sunny (yet) the weather is, at least, warmer. Upon arriving and seeing the pool the kids couldn't wait to jump in, the water still quite cool.















As for Jas and Dave, what else but a beer made even better sitting by the pool.

Our accommodation here is 2 kms out of Hoi An. We didn't fancy walking or even cabbing it in tonight so walked just up the road and found this restaurant.

We're really getting a grasp of choppys and wondering if we'll ever go back to cutlery.

And the food, simply superb! Probably the best to date. I know we keep saying that but it just keeps getting better and better.

Fish with spices, steamed rice and vegetables.

Dave had the most delicious dessert - mung bean porridge. Mung beans cooked for very long time in water then mixed with sugar and topped with coconut cream and peanuts - yummy.

If feels strange being all the way over here whilst our home town (Brisbane) is going under with the flooding. We've been watching the tv, scouring the internet, and speaking with peeps at home all day to find out what's happening. We're concerned about all our belongings which are in storage and feeling helpless really, although we have wonderful family who have offered to get it out, but really it's just a wait and see game.
