After installing Jacques (Tom Tom) and entering destination, Uzes, we were on our way, driving in the wrong side of the car, on the wrong side of the road and changing gears with the wrong hand. Apart from the occasional "Dave, you're drifting over my side" he did a wonderful job. His hands were relieved at the end of the day after clenching the wheel so tight.
Typical travel scene from the Stark children.
We stopped half way at a road side rest stop. The kids got a quick play to stretch their legs.
And Sofie and I used a Bali-type toilet.
We drove 750 kilometres in 6.5 hours driving mostly at the speed limit of 130 km/hr. Motorways in France rock! When stopping to pay the first toll I was rattling around looking for change expecting to pay a few euros when on the screen popped 30.40 euros - wtf? The next toll 17 euros so toll charges today equalled around $80.
We've unpacked and now settling in for the night after a delicious dinner of Pizza, and obligatory vino, ordered in French!
Bienvenue (welcome) to Uzes.
