JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG

After a "take it easy" morning, the children staying at home whilst Dave and I visited the supermarche and English second hand bookstore, we spent the afternoon at Jardin Du Luxembourg.

It is un tres belle (a very beautiful) garden/park where the Parisian's come to relax, unwind, sunbake, read, play chess, romanticise and get away from it all. There is no walking or laying on blankets allowed on the grass but there are plenty of chairs and tables throughout.

Also in the park is a children's playground (which costs to enter) and just outside go-karts which can be hired for a small fee.

On our way home we came across a manifestation (protest) where the gendarmes (military body with police duties) were out in full force on every surrounding street.

More beautiful photos here.

We're off to live in Uzes for 8 weeks tomorrow after firstly picking up our lease car. The children and I are quietly freaking out about Dave's ability to drive 1) in the wrong side of the car 2) change gears and operate accelerator and brake with opposite hand and feet 3) drive on the wrong side of the road 4) go round a roundabout and 5) work out which is his left and right. Pray for us s'il vous plait.
