COTSWOLD FALCONRY CENTRE

Today after our morning schooling session with the kids we had an afternoon excursion to the Falconry about 5 miles down the road at Moreton in Marsh. They have a collection of birds of prey as well as training and using the birds for hunting prey such as rabbits and ducks (and maybe pigeons).

The "keeper" demonstrated hunting skills of a Great Owl, a Falcon (not a Peregrine, Dad) and an Eagle. The birds flew around so close to you their wings touched your head. They brought them back when they were flying with a lure of baby chickens - which the birds scoffed whole.

Sofie and myself enjoyed the whole experience but Jayden was more concerned with what type of icecream he was going to have at the end. See all photos here.

Shelley opted out of this excursion and we came home to find her asleep on the couch in front of the fire.
