Down by the water was absolutely glorious.
Lunch at Le Piccolo was even better.
All of the restaurants in France have set menus, with selections for each course, which works out to be far better value than ordering a la carte. I opted for the 18 euro menu which included the buffet and dessert. The buffet consisted of many vegetarian options which is unusual to come by. Aubergines, courgettes, red and green peppers, omelette provincale, cous cous and fruited rice.
Piggy Dave went for the 26 euro menu for the buffet. He filled up on mussels, prawns, paella, anchovies, olive tapenade and salami.
Then second course was a kind of fish soup with rock crabs, mussels, fish, potatoes and toasted bread which was rubbed with raw fresh garlic and spread with paprika aioli left to soak in the soup.
Third course was fromage (cheese) and walnuts. He's been a good boy and taking his cholesterol tablets daily ;)
And finally dessert. A tasting plate including chocolat fondant, creme brulee, apple cake and a very strong cafe.
