WHERE'D THAT DAY GO?

We packed up and left our hotel in Sanur only to arrive at the airport and find our flight to Kuala Lumpur had been cancelled. Luckily we were put on the next flight which still had us arriving in time to catch our connector to London. We paid 100,000 rupiah each and spent the hours in the Dewa Lounge. Surprisingly, time flew with surfing the net, watching movies, reading and eating all we wanted from the buffet. We particularly liked the chocolate coated croissants :) Photos here.

The flight was long, long, long. As usual the kids travelled wonderfully and being an overnight flight we were able to get a few hours sleep in. We arrived in London one hour ahead of schedule and after what seemed ages waiting for our bags headed to the "declare items" lane in customs (we always like to declare food items) to find no-one there so walked straight through going what was that about? We had a driver meeting us to take us to our hotel, The Marble Thistle Arch. After checking in, unpacking, another breakfast, we headed out to pound the pavement and see the sights in our immediate vicinity. Food wise it's really the same shit, different country (LOL) with the rest of the family again having McDonald's for lunch. Dave's mission to have a Big Mac in every country. Jayden was excited to finally see the big red buses and is looking forward to our hop on, hop off tour today.

We came across a Disney store filled with Toy Story 3 paraphernalia. Jayden went ballistic. Starting to hit the wall (extremely jet lagged) we grabbed a few groceries and headed back to the hotel around 4.30 pm, passed out and both Dave and I woke around 4 am this morning. Apparently the kids had fended for themselves watching a couple of episodes of The Simpsons on the box, eating oreos, Jayden colouring in, before going to sleep themselves. This morning we've been for breaky and are just about to head out for the day sightseeing. Hoping we can last the distance! London Day 1 photos here.
