TREETOP ADVENTURE PARK

Yesterday, Sunday, another outing. This time to Bali Treetop Adventure Park set amongst the beautiful Bedugul Botanical Gardens. I'll leave Sofie to write about the thrill seeking.

by Sofie & Dad

We had a great time on the courses. In terms of difficulty there were 6 courses from yellow for beginners (about 2 metres off the ground - still required harnesses) to Black (over 20 metres high and for adrenalin junkies only). The second hardest was the red (up to 20 metres high with ropes to swing on and wobbly ladders to cross. Me and Dad made it all the way to the red but I had to stop at the tarzan swing (20 metres high) and be rescued by one of the attendants. You were supposed to be over 12 to do this course but I had a go anyway. Poor Dad was left up there and had to finish the course by himself - he was really scared.

You had two carabiners on your harness so as you could make sure you had at least one attached to an anchor point at all times. This was lucky as when climbing down a net about three metres off the ground I fell backwards and the harness saved me. There were lots of flying foxes in the courses which were the best fun. On one of the flying foxes I did not grab on to the landing point and slid back down the wire and got stuck in the middle hanging on by my harness. I then had to pull myself up the wire for about 10 metres - it was hard! Our hands were really sore at the end from hanging on for dear life.

Jayden did really well making it to the second course by himself and doing the carabiner attachments and flying fox attachments by himself.

Mum got harnessed up to begin with but didn't end up having a go as she was too busy taking photos and movies.

More photos can been seen here. And movies Sofie 1, Sofie 2, Sofie 3, Jayden 1, Jayden 2.

It was then onto Ulun Danu Temple which is a Balinese Hindu Temple located in Beratan Lake of Bedugul. One story read about the lake had something to do with Goddesses and fertility sources which is perhaps why women at "TTOM" are asked to stay away.

Lastly, a trip to the Bedugul Fruit Market where we bought some fresh veges, green tea and curry spices but realised when we got home I forgot to get the bloody broccoli!
