LOURDES

Well, here we are at Lourdes, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Lourdes is a major place of Roman Catholic pilgrimage and of miraculous healings. After the four and a half hour drive we checked into our hotel, Residence du Soleil, before going to check out a few of the sights. We spent most of the afternoon at Les Sanctuaires.





















I made sure I had a BIG drink of the holy water ;)

Then I took Jayden with me through La Grotte. Sofie was hesitant to come at first.

But she came over to light one of the two candles I bought.

Then it was Dave's turn to walk through La Grotte and he was able to convince Sofie to go with him.

And then he held Jayden's hand to light a candle.

We walked through the town then and checked out La Office de Tourisme before heading home to freshen up before dinner. Over and out for an early night ready a big day tomorrow. More photos of Lourdes here.
